Job Description:
Aerojet Rocketdyne, an L3Harris Technologies Company, is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Quality Supervisor whose primary responsibilities are to provide quality inspection services to our Production Operations and Engineering Teams in the areas of electronic and mechanical assembly as well as qualification testing. This position is located in Orlando, FL.
Essential Functions:
- Provides leadership / mentoring / training to quality inspector team as it relates to on-boarding, development, retention, including program/part specific. Develops, trains, empowers and coaches the inspection team in problem solving.
- Interpret manufacturing drawings, diagrams, specifications and lists to validate as needed the approval or rejection of units. Supervisors will assure that support documentation and reviews performance data are properly maintained.
- Validate that in-process and finished products meet company standards. Determines or assists in determining methods and procedures necessary for inspection. Validates products and documentation for compliance to all applicable requirements.
- Identify, assign and monitor quality requirements for parts and assemblies procured from Vendors/Suppliers and manufactured on assigned programs.
- Leading or participating in monitoring performance of assigned programs, and facilitating corrective and preventative actions in order to accomplish improvement when required.
- Participate in presenting Quality related data, investigation summaries, trends, and significant issues at various compliance board meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 2 years of prior Quality experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior Quality experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams directly and/or indirectly in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working on Aerospace or Defense contracts is desired
- Prior experience with missile systems, subsystems and integration preferred.
- Launch vehicle hardware build, test and integration experience desired.
- Knowledge of industry standard Quality specifications including ISO 9001, AS9100, J-STD-001 and IPC-A-620.
- Knowledge of ANSI/ASME Y14.5.
- Ability to analyze failures and identify root cause, process defect reports.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to interact with all levels of management and customer personnel.
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements desired. Professional certification(s) is a plus.
- TipQA, Costpoint and Sharepoint experience a plus.
