Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a RC-135 Communication Systems Integration/Test Engineering Specialist for our location at Offutt AFB, Nebraska providing maintenance, test, sustainment, and subject matter expertise on extremely complex airborne and ground-based communication systems for the RC-135 fleet. These include:
Possess excellent communications skills - instruct and assist in-person, via phone, and/or email
Thorough knowledge of TCAS, IFF, all aircraft performance related computers, Stellar/Inertial systems , Angle of Attack Transmitter, Autothrottles, Autopilot, Cockpit Voice Recorder, GPS, RADAR, and Flight Instrument Systems and Indicators.
Demonstrate understanding of wiring diagrams to isolate and correct malfunctions with Control, Data Input, and Data Outputs for each of the previously mentioned systems.
Knowledge of Fuel, Hydraulic, and LOX system indications and signal flow
Operate and troubleshoot commercial and military communication systems
Perform radio front panel and remote loading, configuration, and operation
Properly configure crypto transfer devices and demonstrate proper usage
Troubleshoot Antennae, RF distribution, diplexers, and RF switches
Operate, update, and configure support PCs
Operate and repair digital and analog interphone networks
Qualifications:
Previously qualified to operate/sustain large aircraft flight control, instrumentation and communication systems within the last 2 years
Experience with commercial and military broadband communication systems
Education and years of experience
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
Or 8 years of prior related experience
Active Secret Clearance or equivalent with the ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance within the first year
Work non-standard hours depending upon customer mission requirements
Able to lift up to 50 lbs. up to 5% of the time and climb ladders daily
Prioritize work tasks based upon operational needs
Ability to instruct others on communication systems configuration, operations, and troubleshooting
Worldwide deployable up to 20% of the time
Preferred Additional Skills:
RC-135 avionics and communications operation/sustainment experience
Familiarity with signal generators, spectrum analyzers and other advanced test equipment
DoD IAT level I certified
Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
