Job Description:
Subject matter expert for the maintenance, repair, and installation of a complex submarine sonar system. Responsible for supporting the design, documentation, requirements management, integrations and troubleshooting of complex electronic systems aboard submarines. Works alongside the In Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) and program office to identify problems, troubleshoot, and recommend resolutions. Will interface with engineering teams and elevates significant problems to appropriate management. May build customer intimacy through job assignments related system/product acceptance testing or hands-on user training.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for developing resource plans and programs for area of responsibility to ensure strategic objectives are achieved.
- Works alongside the ISEA and program office to identify problems, troubleshoot, and recommend resolutions.
- Manage large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the program office with minimal oversight or direction.
- Strong knowledge of submarine electronics and management. Provides Subject Matter Expertise in submarine ship maintenance for new construction and in-service submarines.
- Support Fleet Training, training material development, and in service operations.
- Requires mastery level of submarine electronics installation and management. Provides Subject Matter Expertise in submarine electronics installations for new construction and in-service overhauls.
- Responsible for process improvement in a mature naval maintenance program, ensuring the small cadre can maintain a complex system aboard submarines. Drawing on best practices and lessons identified.
Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret Clearance required
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Experience leading cross-department or organization projects.
- Experience with complex Submarine sub systems.
