Job Description:
The Circuit Breaker Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting AQB and ACB type circuit breakers. This position will make necessary connections, operate breakers, and switchboard modifications.
Essential Functions:
- Troubleshoot AQB & ACB type circuit breakers, including SPD, ITE, GE, Westinghouse, Cutler Hammer, ABB, Whipp & Bourne, switchgear equipment, and current transducers.
- Perform teardown and assembly of breakers, bus work and associated electrical and mechanical components.
- Conduct various electrical tests using the following equipment - multimeter, megger, hipot, millivolt, and current injection set.
- Read and interpret schematic diagrams, drawings, specification sheets, work instructions & procedures.
- Make necessary connections, operate breakers, and switchboard modifications.
- Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.
- Position requires standing for long periods and being able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Requires highly developed job knowledge and skills typically obtained through a combination of education and experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent with eight (8) years of prior Circuit Breaker experience to include three (3) years of rebuilding, repairing, and retrofitting breakers.
- 2 years post-secondary/associates degree with four (4) years of prior Circuit Breaker experience to include three (3) years of rebuilding, repairing, and retrofitting breakers.
- Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Skills:
- Three (3) years of 120V-416V of shipboard electrical Experience and use of hand tools.
