Job Summary:

The Director, Chief Technology Officer at ForceX is the driving force behind our technical strategy and product development, particularly in the realms of AI/ML, cloud computing, and mobile technologies. This role requires close collaboration with the L3Harris Corporate CTO, Shield Capital Investments, and other internal and external stakeholders to support and accelerate product development. The Director, Program Management will set the vision, strategy, and growth plans for our software and hardware solutions, ensuring they exceed customer expectations, market relevance and align with DoD requirements.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 12 years in technology with experience in R&D, systems analysis, project scope development, test design, implementation, and/or functional design.
  • Proven track record in aligning new concepts with emerging technologies.
  • In-depth understanding of the DoD industry, technology needs, and acquisition processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills across functional and matrixed teams.
  • Expertise in developing strategic plans and setting timelines for technical services.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and trends in software development.
  • Proficiency in communicating technological visions, opportunities, and risks.
  • Strong organizational skills including planning, documenting, and action item tracking.
  • Experience with direct customer interaction for scoping licensed product capabilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to Quick Reaction Capabilities (QRC) team and Product Teams.
  • Support product managers in developing competitive licensed products for DoD and commercial markets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy that includes AI/ML, cloud computing, and mobile technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with the L3Harris CTO and Shield Capital Investments to align product development with strategic investments.
  • Ensure technology roadmaps and plans are communicated across ForceX and L3Harris.
  • Monitor DoD needs to align recommendations with business goals.
  • May involve travel up to 20%, both foreign and domestic.
  • Represent ForceX at conferences and networking events, engaging with customers, industry leaders, and strategic partners.
  • Participate as a member of the senior leadership team, contributing to overall company strategy and operations.

Physical Demands:

  • May require working in confined areas at customer facilities.
  • Requires sitting for extended periods and frequent light physical effort.

Work Environment:

  • Office environment or on-site at customer facilities.
  • Regular computer and other technology component use.
  • May require being on call and working outside normal hours.
