Job Description:
Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors final approval of products through the complete production cycle to meet production requirements. Works from engineering plans and production specifications to ensure materials are provided according to schedules. Advises management of the status of work in progress, coordinates with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain and interfaces with engineering and program management as well as external customers. Ensures availability of materials and labor to meet production requirements and delivery commitments. Works to resolve labor and material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions.
Essential Functions:
- Communicate, coordinate, and negotiate workflow through multiple work centers via various functional organizations to secure needed resources while ensuring changing customer demands, and schedule deadlines are met.
- Expedite flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules
- Monitor order status, including material status, managing WIP areas, location accuracy, inventory discrepancies, manufacturing and program support, and communication support.
- Ensure availability of materials to meet production requirements and delivery commitments. Works to resolve material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions.
- Leads stand up production meetings to capture status and report out any issues.
- Advises program management on scheduling timelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- APICS CPIM certification a plus
- Experience in collaborating with program management, supply chain and engineering functions to support IPT requirements.
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP and advance planning tools.
- Experience with the application of lean methodology in the capacity optimization space
- Prior experience in a turnaround environment.
