Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Senior Facilities Specialist, supporting the Facilities Manager, to lead a team of facilities technicians to successfully implement and manage facilities projects along with coordinating the day to day work assignments for team planning and execution. You will help to ensure seamless operations of our facilities and you will work closely with the Environmental Health and Safety team to ensure the safety of our employees by providing for a safe work environment.
Essential Functions:
- Prioritize and lead all aspects of facilities work at the facilities and ensure timely and budget-compliant completion
- Collaborate with diverse teams to improve facility design and operations
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors and contractors
- Partnering with EHS to conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
- Coordinate contracted and in-house work to meet preventative maintenance schedules for all infrastructure support systems, HVAC, Elevators, Compressors, House Vacuum Systems, etc
- Submit proposals, prepare purchase request, ROI calculations, and executive summaries
- Interface with various governmental agencies to include coordination of contractors and city inspections
- Responsible for all facilities planning, including major and minor moves and all building modifications
- Responsible for maintaining projections and forecast for Facilities Utilization
- Ensure emergency back-up plans and systems are in order and maintained
- Review the operation of plant equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement
- Maintain a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment
- Initiate and implement projects to improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs
- Communicate directly with the operations department to coordinate facilities, maintenance and repair work in process areas
- Monitor operation of plant equipment and systems
- Ensure facilities technicians are adequately trained and equipped
- Comply with city, county, state, and federal regulations at all times
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalentwith 6 years prior experience, Graduate Degree with 4 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
- Familiarity with architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire and life safety systems design and specs
- Knowledge of manufacturing facilities support systems: HVAC, UPW, Power distribution, CDA, IWT, PCW, Controls, etc
- Ability to work with CMMS systems
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Ability to perform comprehensive troubleshooting, installation, maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment
- Ability to coordinate contractor bids for facility upgrades and expansion projects, and oversee timely completion of construction projects
- Ability to think and plan proactively and prioritize work
- Ability to form partner relationships with functional management
- Ability to manage time and complex, deadline-drive workload, including planning, organizing, setting reasonable priorities and good follow-through
