Job Description:
The Manufacturing Technician will provide support to the production line with unit alignment, assembly, and testing.
Essential Functions:
- Able to follow and comply with documents such as work instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
- Assemble, align, and test, systems, components for complex optics, laser, and night vision products following specified work instructions and procedures to ensure finished product meets established operational and cosmetic requirements
- Ability to work with RTV, epoxy, and other bonds/adhesives
- Ability to complete fine/complex assemblies with small components and apply bond/adhesives potentially with use of a microscope
- Ability to make fine adjustments while simultaneously monitoring computer/screen output of unit results
- Requires ability to operate complex active alignment stations and tooling
- Ability to troubleshoot and disposition basic failure modes of systems
- May require ability to use, read, and interpret oscilloscopes and other measurement devices/tools
- Working knowledge of electronic, optical and mechanical assemblies
- Identifies, utilizes, and performs preventive maintenance on tools and test equipment as required
- Demonstrate comprehension of engineering prints and schematics.
- Reports deviations from standard to appropriate resource for review, instruction and authorization and obtains quality inspection when appropriate
- Applies considerable math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Participates in meetings and working groups to solve problems, communicate issues, obtain approvals, and maintains specific level of knowledge pertaining to new requirements or policies
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Ability to move up to 25 pounds
- Moderate computer skills (Excel, Word), interface with production testing software
- Ability to remain in a stationary position
