Job Description:
The Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment of L3Harris is seeking a Supervisor, Quality Management to work at either our existing state-of-the-art Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF) in Toney, AL, and/or our new, AMF in Huntsville, AL, which will be our inert manufacturing facility for fabrication and assembly of composite rocket motor hardware. This role supervises exempt and/or non-exempt employees. Communicates with parties inside and outside of own team to explain and interpret policies, practices, and procedures. Adjusts basic procedures and processes. Plans and establishes operational objectives for a team with some impact on department results. Understands basic supervisory approaches and has practical knowledge of job area. Is responsible for fostering an environment focused on personal development for direct reports.
Essential Functions:
The Quality Supervisor plays a pivotal role in leadership by guiding teams to ensure adherence to quality standards, fostering professional development, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
Drives program success and achieves customer satisfaction through diligent oversight, effective communication, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring both product excellence and team advancement within the organizational framework.
Oversees exempt/non-exempt staff, directing daily tasks and productivity, and making operational decisions.
Contributes to decisions on hiring, promotions, performance, discipline, and compensation for their team and reports to a Senior Supervisor or higher.
Communication with internal and external parties, including customers and vendors.
Makes routine adjustments to methods and processes to resolve problems, typically within the immediate job area or team. Solutions are found by applying past experience, standard procedures, and basic analysis.
Oversee and drive team to meet specific operational goals at the program and site level.
Delegate, where applicable, tasks to achieve targets and service standards without direct budget or Profit & Loss responsibility, but may oversee daily budget aspects like staff overtime.
Nurture talent through mentoring, providing feedback, setting goals, offering development opportunities, and fostering a supportive environment for professional growth.
Ability to travel between Huntsville AMF sites.
Ability to obtain US Security Clearence.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 2 years of prior Quality experience. Graduate Degree and 0 years of prior Quality experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior Quality experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience collaborating within a Microsoft 365 environment, with proficiency in the included applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
Direct leadership/supervisory experience.
Project Management experience.
Supplier/Customer Support expereince.
Regulatory & Auditing (AS9100) in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
