Job Description:
The Specialist, Systems Engineer performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation. The Specialist SE is part of a team that supports the requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne platforms.
Essential Functions:
- Design and develop architectures incorporating audio and data capabilities for airborne to ground system interactions
- Translate the voice of the customer into system level requirements
- Write system level requirements
- Write subsystem specifications based on system level requirements
- Write effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements
- Evaluate alternative solutions and establish preliminary system designs
- Perform system integration of multiple subsystems across airborne and ground systems to ensure system requirements are met
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. A degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret (SCI) security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
- Experience with testing, integrating, and verifying software and/or hardware
- Experience with installation, testing and training of software systems at customer locations
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Flight qualified to perform observer role on RC135 or similar aircraft
- Aircraft and ground systems integration and ground/flight test support
- Knowledge of requirement traceability methods and purpose
- Excellent written, oral communications skills
- Willingness to travel
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Jira, etc.
- Security Plus certification
