Job Description:
Primarily the Firefighter responds to Aircraft, EMS, Hazardous Materials, Structural Fire, Wildland Fire and other emergencies on the L3Harris-Greenville (L3Harris) Majors Field footprint. Secondarily, the firefighter is responsible for enforcing the L3Harris Fire Prevention program on the facility
Responds to all emergencies ensuring all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is donned properly prior to entering the emergency apparatus. Conducts daily and post emergency inspections of all apparatus an equipment including assigned PPE; reporting discrepancies to their Fire Lieutenant. Conducts monthly fire extinguisher inspections documenting each inspection in the Inspect-N-Track inspection software platform. Conducts quarterly fire prevention inspections on assigned L3Harris facilities, documenting the inspection on the L3Harris Fire Prevention Inspection Report, advising their Fire Lieutenant of any discrepancies. Conducts monthly Fire Control Valve inspections, documenting the inspections on the Fire Control Valve Inspection Report. While wearing PPE conducts stand-by services on all Hazardous Operations defined by National Aeronautical Standard 3306. Maintains proficiency as a Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician Basic through the L3Harris Fire Department Training program. Maintains the Fire Station and Apparatus in a constant VIP Visit ready status. Completes other tasks as assigned by the Senior Supervisor, Firefighter (Fire Lieutenant), Associate Manager, Firefighter (Assistant Chief), Manager, Firefighter (Fire Chief).
Participates in the L3Harris Fire Department Physical Training Program; successfully completing initial and semi-annual aerobic capacity test with an aerobic capacity of ≥ 12 Metabolic Equivalents (METs) in accordance with NFPA 1582, Standard on Comprehensive Occupational Medical Program for Fire Departments, Chapter 8. Maintains physical condition in accordance with NFPA 1582, Standard on Comprehensive Occupational Medical Program for Fire Departments, Chapter 7.
Essential Functions:

Required Qualifications:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance, which requires US citizenship
- Must pass and maintain a National Fire Protection Association Standard 1582, Standard on Comprehensive Occupational Medical Program for Fire Departments Physical Exam.

- Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) certification within one year.
