Job Description:
The A&P Mechanic will perform a wide variety of maintenance on aircraft flight control systems and inspections on aircraft. This position will perform duties to include tow and position aircraft; remove and install aircraft hydraulic components, landing gear, tires and struts; performs engine removals and installations; checks for work correctness. Analyzes equipment failures to determine cause and recommends corrective action. Integrate Service Bulletins and customer requested modifications into aircraft systems. Implements preventive maintenance programs and keeps performance and maintenance records on equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Position will include lifting, bending, and climbing.
- Position requires daily interface with customers at numerous levels.
- Work with L-3 engineering and commercial manufacturers of aircraft, avionics and power plant systems for maintenance, operation, tools, parts and GSE for the customer’s maintenance department
- Position will require travel CONUS and OCONUS
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Active Secret (or greater) security clearance renewed within last six (6) years
- Current A&P License (Airframe and Powerplant)
- Minimum 1 year experience in flight status experience
- Ability to pass FAA Class III medical exam
- Ability to pass FAA Class III flight physical
- Ability to complete altitude chamber training
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to use a wide variety of technical data from OEM manuals to engineering drawings
- Boeing and/or Gulfstream experience a strong plus
- Must be highly skilled, with a high degree of interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent communication skills
