About your next Challenge as an Electronics Technician:
You will be responsible to regularly perform functions associated with avionics repair and overhaul (R&O) operations, including but not limited to:
- Troubleshooting, adjusting, testing, and diagnosing the root cause(s) of avionics equipment failures reported by our customers’ end users;
- Operate related equipment; conduct tests, and report test data in prescribed formats.
- Use sophisticated programs and equipment perform final quality test and reporting on repaired customer parts, components, subassemblies, and top-level system assemblies.
- Repairing equipment, components, devices, or other failed systems.
- Working from schematics, operating, or repair manuals, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
Periodically perform the following functions related to R&O or other special avionic system testing projects:
- Determine and/or follow methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing on units for repair purposes; and preparing prescribed compounds and solutions.
- Assist Engineering in developing methods and procedures in the R&O process.
- Work with engineers in conducting experiments and executing projects.
- Perform repair and alignment checks; make adjustments, modification, and replacements as directed.

Education & Experience:
- Requires fully proficient knowledge/skills in complex avionics/electronics system testing and repair;
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years Technical/Community College Certificate with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Additional Qualifications that are ‘Preferred’
- Previous experience in the repair of military avionics/airborne systems including VHF/UHF radio communication systems; search radar system; imaging radar systems; CRT and AMLCD display systems; Link 11/16; and/or airborne flight instruments and control systems is preferred.
- Previous experience, qualification, certification, and/or endorsement in J-STD-001 is preferred.
- Previous experience, qualification, certification, and/or endorsement in IPC-620 is preferred.
Additional Qualifications that are considered ‘Assets’:
- Experience working in the military as an AVS technician or for a defense contractor as an avionics test/repair technician
- Previous experience, qualification, certification and or endorsement in IPC-7711 & IPC-7721
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
