Job Description:
This position will manage Production and Manufacturing Engineering as well as collaborate with other functional leads within Planning, Quality, Engineering and Program Management to ensure proper execution of necessary production work. This position will develop and implement policies, controls, and operating procedures for all planning, direction, and timely execution of production requirements in support of operational excellence. This position has the responsibility of supervising direct reports, providing work assignments, driving continuous improvement opportunities as well as manage capital projects. Finally, this position will lead and drive performance for the business as measured via Safety, Quality, Delivery and Financial targets.
Essential Functions:
- Directs and coordinates production activities, through supervisory personnel.
- Assigns program responsibilities to manufacturing engineers and monitors progress against program schedules. Will also have direct program responsibility for manufacturing engineering as necessary.
- Leads daily production meeting with planning, quality, procurement and production.
- Coordinates activities of department with other functional groups
- Drives site-wide process improvement to support the needs of the business.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
- Experience in manufacturing engineering and working in a production environment.
- Experience interfacing with Planning, Quality, Engineering and Program Management.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Prior management experience
- Experience with lean manufacturing implementation.
- This position requires outstanding personnel management skills; excellent written and oral communications skills; must be a self-motivator and possess the ability to motivate others; and possess good interpersonal skills.
- The individual must be a self-starter and be capable of demonstrating initiative to identify and solve production problems.
- Demonstrated results in driving process improvement at a site level.
