Job Description:
The Sr. Associate, Environment Health & Safety Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring company environment, health and safety (EHS) programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state and local environmental health and safety regulations. Work to reduce company risk and liability in all aspects of EHS. Assists in a variety of duties to include, sampling, observations, training and inspections. Works with stakeholders in the organization during space planning, building expansions and/or other changes in facilities or work areas to ensure EHS requirements and regulations are met. Assists with root cause analysis when EHS incidents occur and recommends corrective action where environmental, health and safety hazards exist. Responsible for monitoring and driving sustainability initiatives.
Essential Functions:
- Intermediate professional with practical knowledge of job area.
- Works under moderate supervision to set objectives for own job area.
- Communicates with contacts inside and outside own team to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures Identifies and addresses changes within own job area.
- Works to achieve operational targets with some impact on departmental results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related EH&S experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related EH&S experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related EH&S experience.
- 2 years of safety experience in a manufacturing setting.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Must be experienced in OSHA 1910 General Industry.
- Must be experienced in OSHA 29 CFR 1910 General Industry.
- Strong knowledge of standards, OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and ANSI including familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to work within a high pressure and fast-paced environment.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Aerospace experience preferred.
