Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies has an opportunity for an experienced, automation Integration and Test engineer to join an established program in our Tactical Communications program team. This position requires hands-on experience building test automation for custom designed hardware. This engineer is required to test, and troubleshoot software issues in both a test lab and operational environment. This engineer works closely with systems engineers, software developers, and other integration and test engineers to develop automated testing capabilities.
The primary responsibility of the test engineer in this position is to perform the following:
- Daily provide automated & manual test engineering support (troubleshooting complex operational issues, performing root cause analysis, working with RF/Wireless devices and management platforms) to a mission critical GOV/DOD Customers.
- Automate the integration testing of hardware and software system components within a lab environment.
- Automate software build, enhancement, and regression tests, including providing automation performance metrics.
- Automate existing manual test procedures.
- Develop test scenarios, build automation tests, and conduct acceptance tests for requirements of software applications and hardware.
- Troubleshoot test automation issues.
- Work daily with Engineers & Technicians to troubleshoot system issues.
- Recognize and identify opportunities to introduce automation in the testing process, design and implement solutions to exploit those opportunities.
- Capability to write and execute RF electronic assembly and system-level test plans and procedures.
- Ability to document test results and designs for team member and customer review.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to negotiate solutions with Hardware/Software Engineering and Systems Design Engineering.
- Competence in troubleshooting techniques to determine the root cause of test failures.
- Skill in analyzing test data to support requirements validation.
- Will be put in the process to obtain a Secret Security Clearance upon hire.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field with 2-4 years experience or Master's degree with 0-2 years experience. In lieu of degree, 6-8 years experience in integration/test engineering.
- Experience or knowledge of RF or microwave electronics and system operations.
- Experience with RF and microwave measurement tools such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and power meters.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of microwave, millimeter-wave, and high-frequency signals.
- Familiarity with Matlab and Signal Processing Toolbox.
- Ability to write test scripts or programs (e.g., with MATLAB or Python) in support of automated testing.
- Experience with high-speed memory and network interfaces and protocols.
