Job Description:
Performs planning and scheduling functions involved with coordinating products and materials through various production phases. Reviews schedules to determine materials and parts requirements to ensure materials are available according to schedules. Collects and analyzes data and prepares reports including recommendations to meet internal and external demands for materials and finished goods. Expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules. Advises management of the status of work in progress of planned production schedules while working to resolve material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions.
Essential Functions:
- Works to achieve operational targets within job area which has significant impact on the overall achievement of results for the department.
- Plan, organize and direct all material activities of a program including subcontractors.
- Manage material inventory and supply necessary to maintain the specified customer demand.
- Requires independent action and a high degree of initiatives to resolve issues.
- Maintain effective communications with applicable company personnel and functions that review, define schedule compliance as defined by the customer.
- Provide leadership and guidance to assigned personnel in the performance of their duties associated with material movement within operations.
- Acts as a mentor and leader to lower-level peers and provides guidance on tasks.
- Supply input to personnel evaluations and development systems for assigned personnel and assist with career planning and performance measurement.
- Well organized, ability to plan, organize, communicate and direct the day-to-day activities of the Program to meet deadlines.
- Makes recommendations for process improvements and new procedures.
- Works on assignments requiring development of concepts and techniques.
- Communicates with contacts typically within and outside the department on matters that involve explaining complex assignments, solving problems and initiating process improvements.
- Highly skilled and experience senior support individual contributor who works autonomously and in a team environment.
- Promote cordial relationships and foster and maintain a favorable business profile with customers, suppliers, co-workers, industry and professional associations, government agencies and the local community.
Qualifications:
- Be able to obtain a US Secret Clearance
- Requires advanced job knowledge/skills.
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- ERP System experience – Costpoint, SAP, or equivalent
