Job Description:
L3Harris has an immediate opening for a Project Engineering Manager for RTS Systems in Anaheim, CA. The ideal candidate for this position will be proficient in most aspects of the project engineering process, will have direct experience meeting technical, budget and schedule targets, and will be comfortable coordinating and leading small teams.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as technical lead for Project Engineering team.
- Provide mentoring to less experienced Project Engineers
- Perform schedule development, budget estimation, and Earned Value Management reporting.
- Lead, direct, and review the work of direct reports to accomplish near-term operational plans and results.
- Provide input on hiring, firing, promotion, performance and/or compensation decisions.
- Communicate within and outside Project Engineering to explain and gain cooperation on policies and practices.
- Perform Project Engineering duties for multiple systems simultaneously.
- Contribute to and present during customer design reviews.
- Support innovation solutions to complex problems prepare pros and cons for management evaluation.
- Serve as Project Engineer overseeing the engineering roles in the development, integration, fielding, and operational support of various flight test instrumentation systems used to track and collect data from missile flights.
- Contribute to proposal activities.
Job Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to maintain, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
- 4 years’ experience in project development from SRR to TRR in the role of design/systems engineer or as a project engineer.
- 4 Years experience as project Lead needs to be in the engineering department not in manufacturing.
- 4 years’ Experience in managing engineering teams.
- Must have the ability to travel as needed.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Direct experience working with at least two of the following technologies: Underwater Acoustics, Telemetry, Communications, Optics, and Radar
- Knowledge of SSP Systems Engineering processes and procedures
- Direct experience with SSP SPALT, PAD, Coordination Drawing, and Ordnance Document processes
- Direct experience working on SSP Instrumentation Systems such as Radar, Telemetry, Communication, Data Recorder systems.
- Good communication skills, written and verbal.
- Good project management skills, including earn value management, risk management, and staffing.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $122,500 - $227,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
