About the role
The SCADA Engineers primary role is the assembly, installation, set-to-work, commissioning, and test of shipboard Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) in a tightly controlled environment.
The IPMS is a computer-based system with distributed intelligence, which provides control, regulating and monitoring of selected processes of the platform systems, i.e. propulsion, auxiliary, electrical and damage control. The SCADA Engineer is proficient/familiar with the technologies employed by the IPMS:
- Information Technology (such as Local Area Network, Servers)
- Engine Order Telegraph (EOT)
- Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)
- Fire, Oil Mist and Gas Detection Systems (FDS, Oil System and GDS)
- General Alarm Systems
This position is based in Fremantle, WA and is required to undertake short-term interstate assignments to Osborne, SA and other locations within Australia.
About You
To be successful in this role and to best leverage the opportunities provided by L3Harris, some skills & experience ideal applicants will bring include;
- 5 – 10 Years experience gained as a Marine, Electronics or Instrument Technician
- Installation and set-to-work of systems related to monitoring, surveillance, and control (i.e. platform management, building management, industrial control) ideally in a marine environment
- Strong Network administration and Software Installation skills
- Troubleshooting on equipment and assemblies
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematic drawings, and assembly documents
- Ability to identify faults perform rework to rectify faults.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word / Excel / Outlook / Internet Explorer and personal computers running latest Windows
- Self-motivated
