As a subsidiary of L3Harris Technologies and within the Integrated Mission Systems Segment, the WESCAM division develops the most advanced optical sensor and targeting systems for global defense and military sectors, National Security, Search & Rescue and Airborne law enforcement agencies. From long-range covert surveillance missions to search and rescue operations, our MX-series systems, and the mission systems solutions they are a part of, produce stabilized high-magnification electro-optical and infrared images from airborne, marine and ground based platforms, enabling our customers to see first and act first.
About the Role
In this role you’ll be working with and supporting both the Training Manager & EH&S Manager
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support of Training and EHS functions
- Support operation of the Learning Exchange (training rooms) and its users (audio-visual equip., signage, configuration)
- Support delivery of events and services including contacting participants, facility preparation, logistical preparations
- Assist in maintenance of training records in the LMS (learning management system) and coordination of training
- Perform annual Don Mills & Waterdown chemical inventory audits (“point of use” inventories & chemical databases)
- Support industrial hygiene measurement activities
- Participate in eco-sustainability projects (recycling program, green teams, hazardous waste)
- Develop and/or maintain environmental pollution prevention placards for Emissions Compliance
- Assist with processing purchase requisitions, and receiving of invoices related to Training and EH&S functions
- Assist in identifying PPE, signage, job-aids, and other safety controls to maintain a safe working environment
- Maintain records for PPE requests and purchases
- Update and creating Lock-Out Tag-Out Placards on equipment as requested
- Review and maintain spill kits and other emergency inventory
- Prepare presentations, spreadsheets, and other documentation in a timely and accurate manner
- Assist other departmental staff with projects as necessary
- Assist in updating WESCAM intranet site information
- Participate in updating e-learning modules (objectives, content, testing)
- Other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the Training, EHS or other functions based on business unit needs
Required Capabilities
- Highly proficient computer skills including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment by managing multiple and changing priorities
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with co-workers, and other business areas
- Ability to work within a collaborative team environment and independently with minimal supervision
- Customer Service Oriented
- Previous experience in Human Resources is considered an asset
- Previous experience with Microsoft Visio or other CAD drawing software is an asset
Desired Education and Experiences
- Currently enrolled in Post-Secondary Education at the university or college level in a Human Resources Program or equivalent
