Schedule: 1st Shift. 5x8 work schedule. Team is currently working 4x10 M-Th with a potential 8 hours on Friday.
Job Description:
The Engineering Technicians will be responsible for performing systems engineering test tasks associated with aircraft modernization, maintenance and new aircraft systems integration and testing
Essential Functions:
- Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas.
- Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment.
- Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.
- Works from schematics, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
- May work with complex machines or computer systems. Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
- Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.
- Apply knowledge of basic electrical theory, electronics test equipment (digital voltmeter, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, RF power meters, network Analyzers) and their applied use in testing of RF systems and mixed signal products.
- Support the development effort required to integrate Avionics, Communications and Mission systems on multiple assigned platforms.
- Execution of Test Procedures, and performing System Operation and Verification Tests (SOVT) for avionics, communications, including cockpit systems, special mission systems, and navigation equipment.
- Apply ability in reading and interpreting block diagrams, wire diagrams, and circuit schematics to isolate component malfunctions.
- Using effective communication skills, interface with other disciplines and effectively present technical information to others which include customers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, while setting and maintaining the highest ethical standards within the department
- Responsible for tests, methods and procedures to ensure continuous improvement to software quality assurance standards.
- Willingness and/or ability to work outside regularly scheduled hours to meet company objectives.
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- 6+ months experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- A&P and/or FCC license desired
- Active DoD Secret security clearance.
- Proficiency in the use of common and advanced test equipment, including test related software.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
