Job Description:
Performs daily procurement activity by processing requisitions and performing MRP analysis in order to meet desired cost and schedule requirements, while maintaining proper inventory levels in support of manufacturing.
Essential Functions:
- Influence Electronic and/or Optical suppliers' manufacturing processes, technology decisions, and policies in ways that are mutually beneficial and sustainable for both organizations by leveraging the growth of L3Harris
- Lead sourcing engagements and competitive bidding (RFI, RFQ, and RFP)
- Help develop long-term department strategies and significantly influence the cross-company project development and delivery processes and standards.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, PMs, MPMs in securing the best solutions for new or existing programs
- Proactively manage the supply base to achieve our site goals
- Research and benchmark current market conditions/trends, developing technologies, supply chain capacity/capability, product knowledge, customer requirements and supply/demand challenges for each commodity
- Execute spend management strategies including supplier assessments and rationalization, negotiation for best total cost of ownership, make vs. buy analyses, vendor managed inventories, inventory reduction programs, cycle time improvements, security of supply, supplier diversity, continuous improvement, commodity roadmaps, and procurement/stakeholder collaboration
- Lead negotiations and minimizing the purchase price variance (PPV). Ensure on time deliveries by monitoring the materials lead time, capacity status, and market conditions of purchased commodities.completion of contracts with strategic and preferred suppliers to maximize benefits for the L3Harris IVS
- Establish a strong network and foster collaboration with internal customers, suppliers, key stakeholders, and SCM team members
- Implement a rigorous and disciplined process for managing respective supply base including leading periodic Supplier business reviews, monitoring and managing supplier performance (quality, cost, delivery, technology, service, and leadership), managing supplier relationships, performing root cause analysis and resolution, developing and monitoring supplier improvement plans
- Establish, implement, report and socialize on specific, actionable, measurable, achievable, time specific goals and objectives and related performance
- Travel as required and approximately less than 15%
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in sourcing custom process supplies and mechanical components in a high tech environment.
- Extensive experience sourcing electronic and mechanical custom components and process materials.
- Thorough understanding of ERP systems
- Procures Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) supplies and consumables
- Develops and enhances relationships with strategic supplier/partners; serves as the primary contact with suppliers, and supports the initial qualification and then fostering a positive and mutually beneficial relationship with suppliers and their management.
- Actively works on and supports the development of new technologies and supplier capabilities.
- Supplier quality experience and operations experience
