Job Description:
The Principal, Marine Corps Business Development will be a key stakeholder in the development and execution of L3Harris Communications System’s strategic growth plan. The individual will be responsible for the identification of new business opportunities within the Navy and Marine Corps markets through new markets, new partnerships and by means to better meet the needs of existing customers. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Marine Corps and Navy executive agencies to include: Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Headquarters Marine Corps, Marine Corps Systems Command, Chief of Naval Operations, Office of Naval Research (ONR) and Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR). This position reports into the Director of Business Development, Network and Data Link Solutions (NDLS), within the Communications Systems business segment.
Essential Functions:
- Identify, plan and execute campaign strategies to capture Marine Corps and Navy business.
- Support the segment’s joint strategic plan (JSP) and annual operating plan (AOP) processes.
- Identify and qualify Marine Corps opportunities, and where appropriate organize and take coordinating responsibility for capture of key pursuits and opportunities.
- Lead Marine new business growth. Identify customer mission and capability gaps and drive opportunity with Segment Marine Corps leads, PMs, and Engineering….communicate need, identify solution, and drive opportunity to win.
- Participate in the annual business development planning process with Marine Corps and Navy portfolio managers, program managers and product line management professionals.
- Develop and present executive level briefings and presentations on business cases that’s support growth in existing and new markets.
- Work closely with sales, business development, program management, product line management, engineering and other core functional leaders across the segment and corporate organizational structure.
- Accurate and timely tracking of business opportunities and customer contacts via customer relationship management (CRM) software.
- Understand military fixed wing and/or rotary wing aircraft with strong understand of associated requirements.
- Understand maritime, manned and unmanned, requirements with a strong understanding of requirements.
- Possess strong communication, presentation, negotiation, collaboration and cross functional leadership skills.
- In depth knowledge of DoD requirements and acquisition processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
- Active Secret clearance
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from an accredited institution.
- Active TS/SCI Clearance.
- Operational experience within Marine Corps and Navy.
- Ability to travel – up to 25%.
