We are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer, to be a technical leader for a mission critical Network in India. As the Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for system definition and design, interface management, technical trades, performance budgets, requirements management, and requirements-based validation and verification. 

In this role you will be a full business partner with an emphasis on design, and engineering of embedded hardware and enterprise-level infrastructure and platforms using cloud computing technologies into highly scalable, fault-tolerant, and seamless mission solutions.  You will also work closely with internal L3Harris customers, Product and Program Managers, Engineers, Data Scientists, and 3rd party vendors to ensure the systems and platforms implemented meet or exceed those specific functions. 

In this position, you will bring your engineering background to a Systems Engineering role where you can make a broad impact to solutions, integrations, and engineering decisions that are critical to our existing customers and future program pursuits.  The ideal person for this role must be willing to get into the details, as well as step back to play a key role in building a holistic view, manage a diverse group of engineering skillsets, and drive for results within budget and scope.

What the role will involve

The responsibilities of your role will include the following:

• Responsible for providing technical oversight and leadership of embedded hardware and enterprise-level infrastructures and platforms using cloud computing technologies into highly scalable, fault-tolerant, and seamless mission solutions.
• Is accountable for the technical integrity of the system through the product/program full life cycle including proposals, design, integration & test, verification, and sustainment.
• Must walk both sides of the V; decompose requirements to drive a risk mitigated development plan, oversea system integration, and lead requirements-based verification using test threads.
• Required to provide guidance and direction to Software, Systems, Network, and Systems Integration & Test Engineers to ensure the success of the design and implementation
• Provide engineering oversight building, verifying, and delivering OSS and Business Support System (BSS) solutions including a heterogenous blend of COTs, firmware, and software for an end-to-end network service ordering, service fulfilment, and service assurance solution.
• Must apply knowledge of COTS integration, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), OSS/BSS solutions, and industry frameworks such as IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and the enhanced Telecom Operations Map (eTOM);
• Responsible for the investigation and trade study of open source, Commercial Off-the Shelf (COTS) products.
• Must apply forward-leaning technologies associated with DevOps, to include implementing containerized designs using Docker and Kubernetes (k8s), as well as Virtualized implementations on both bare metal (on-premise) and cloud-based environments
• Leverage industry tools such as GitLab and pipeline deployments to streamline automated test and development activities.

What you’ll bring

The role of Chief Engineerrequires the following experience and skills:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in systems, network, software, or similar engineering discipline
• 8+ years of engineering experience in a similar or related field
• 8+ years’ experience in systems, network, or software engineering detailed design of custom or commercial OSS subsystems
• 4+ years’ experience in technical leadership of BSS, OSS, NMS subsystem design with oversight of a large multi-discipline engineering teams
• 4+ years’ experience writing and presenting technical information to customer and internal management audiences
• 4+ years’ experience with systems engineering best practices such as requirements management, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), SysML, and creating test verification matrices; and
• 2+ years’ experience with Cost Account Management (CAM), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development, Basis of Estimations (BOE), and Statement of Work (SOW) development for third-party vendors.
