JOB TITLE:            Associate, Systems Administration (Patching System Admin)

LOCATION:           Melbourne, Florida

JOB DESCRIPTION:

L3Harris is searching for talented entry level Systems Administrators to join the L3Harris team to help design and develop, maintain cutting edge communications and digital communications. 

The candidate will be responsible for supporting the installation, configuration, and maintenance of both Linux and Windows servers and workstations, ensuring alignment with established standards, policies, procedures, and configuration guidelines. This role also includes supporting the build, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of virtual compute environments, utilizing solutions such as VMware. Additionally, the candidate will assist with software installations, system upgrades, and patch management, ensuring all systems remain compliant with service level agreements and organizational requirements. The candidate will also be expected to support routine hardware and software audits to ensure continued compliance with internal policies and configuration standards.

• This is a (100%) on-site position at L3Harris offices located in Melbourne, Florida and cannot be accomplished       remotely
• This position may require weekend, after hours support, and on-call rotations to meet program requirements.
• This position requires the ability to obtain FAA Public Trust Suitability.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 0-2 years related experience with BS/BA (Bachelors) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems or related field with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 4 years of prior related experience..

• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong listening skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

• Knowledge of: COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) software for Windows/Linux, scripting, TCP/IP, information systems security (anti-virus, spyware/malware countermeasures, firewalls, etc.), general working knowledge of Windows/Linux systems administration, familiarity with computer hardware, experience or knowledge of active directory, LDAP, and/or installation of operating systems, data security, or network setup, and VMware.
