Job Description:
We believe manufacturing is important not only for what it makes, but for what it makes possible for the future. The L3Harris Integrated Vision Solutions (IVS) sector manufacturing engineering team is responsible for providing our manufacturing operations with the vision, technology, and expertise they need through the entire production process. In this role you will lead a team of talented engineers and technicians responsible for providing our manufacturing operations with the vision, technology, and expertise they need through the entire production process, from discovery and design to manufacturing and fulfillment.
Essential Functions:
- Promote safety through leadership in process safety analysis, ergonomic assessments, and process improvement activities.
- Engagement on product designs / new product introduction including DFMA and design for additive manufacturing.
- Manage engineers and technicians driving projects for new product introduction, tactical support and current product continuous improvement.
- Expertise in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- Support divisional and Operations financial and productivity metrics and improvement goals.
- Ensure Manufacturing Engineering Team is driving improvements in first pass yield, cycle time, efficiency, cost of poor quality.
- Collaboration with Operations in the execution of production commitments.
- Use lean, process technology, and automation to continuously improve the manufacturing environments driving cost leadership, world class quality and customer satisfaction.
- Partner with the Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality & Continuous Improvement (e3) to integrate process integrity methods such as xFMEAs and Statistical Process Control (SPC) as a daily way of life.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience leading technical teams in a high performing organization.
- Manufacturing experience in the manufacture of complex electronics, optics and/or electro-mechanical assemblies
- Experience leading the deployment of new manufacturing technologies, and new product development / design for manufacture and assembly (DFMA)
- Demonstrated track record working in cross-functional teams and influencing organizational change.
- Demonstrated experience / certification in Lean principles; Six Sigma, mistake proofing, etc.
- Highest levels of leadership integrity, openness, compliance and honesty in all business interactions.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if necessary
