Job Description:
Support design and manufacturing efforts relating to aerospace coatings and aerospace paint stripping operations for the modification of military and FAA certified aircraft. Coordinate/assist in material problem resolution for aircraft components and installations. Coordinate with engineering, production, quality, customer, and program office personnel during design, fabrication, and installation process to develop most cost-effective designs/repairs relating to coatings, corrosion prevention/control, paint stripping chemicals, and other associated chemicals. Develop and maintain company documentation relating to the coatings and associated chemicals. Participate in contract specific activities and work under general direction. Provide technical solutions to a wide range of problems. Computer skills are important, as the position requires significant technical writing.
Essential Functions:
- Write Technical Process Specifications (TPSs)
- Material research, testing/evaluation and support
Qualifications:
- Requires proficient knowledge of job area. Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Aerospace/aircraft industry experience
- Familiarity with applicable Aerospace and Industry standards and specifications
- Familiarity with SAP software (L3Harris ERP system)
- Good presentation skills
- Corrosion control experience
- Familiarity with aircraft coatings and sealants
