Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a Software Engineering / System Integrator to support Mission System integration and support in secure DoD an DCSA accredited environments. The position will be responsible for developing and maintaining mission system environments with a mix of OS and hosting solutions. Integration of the mission systems will include the install and configuration of the Operating Systems and Mission software, Infrastructure services, and Cyber Security hardening. A solid understanding of Linux and Windows administration is required. A candidate must be a self-starter, be able to work independently, work effectively in a diverse technical team, and could take ownership of issues through resolution.

Essential Functions:

  • Linux and Windows systems deployment, upgrades, configuration management, patching and maintenance
  • Familiar with Linux and Windows systems security standards (RMF, CMMC, DFARS, NISPOM)
  • Installation and hardening of software systems and networks
  • Routine monitoring and inspection of secured systems
  • Backup and recovery within a Linux or Windows based system of backup technologies
  • On site (not fully remote) position
  • Hardware lifecycle management, including evaluating new hardware needs and making purchase recommendations
  • Coach, mentor and train new team members
  • Assist leadership with business decisions demonstrating and safeguarding the company by assuring that applicable laws and policies are followed
  • Responsible for dissecting customer contracts into a detailed and actionable backlog of tasks, ensuring clear team objectives and deliverables for successful project execution

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance is Required to start
  • Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI, which requires U.S. Citizenship.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Operating systems deployment, upgrades, configuration management, patching and maintenance
  • Operating systems administration activities (e.g., Ubuntu, Windows, Linux)
  • Familiarization with virtual technologies
  • Familiar with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) techniques
  • Disk imaging tools
  • Configuration Management tools
  • Scripting languages (e.g.Bash, Powershell, Python, PHP)
  • Infrastructure services (e.g., DNS, DHCP)
  • Network administration (e.g., switches, firewalls, routing, DMZs)
  • Tracking and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Security standards such NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, DISA STIGS, CS2
  • Industry certifications in Linux and Cybersecurity related areas (e.g., Security+)
