L3Harris ASV are the maritime industry’s autonomy partner of choice, we are powering the Royal Navy’s adoption of autonomous surface vehicle technology as well as delivering autonomous capability to UK ports, harbours and offshore energy service providers. We have delivered more than 100 autonomous surface vehicle (ASV) systems.
Please note, UK wide travel is a huge part of this role.

What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to support business objectives.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies.
- Identify and prioritise target markets, industries, and customers based on business objectives.
- Work closely with the Business Development Director on development strategy and delivery, including tradeshow plans and appropriate marketing collateral.
- Own delivery of sales targets in line with strategy.
- Develop clear plans with existing customers to deliver repeat orders and ensure productive relationships.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders in the maritime, defense, energy, and offshore industries.
- Develop and manage relationships with distributors and agents.
- Lead and support all parts of the sales cycle, including but not limited to generating leads, writing proposals, negotiating and closing sales.
- Develop and monitor KPI’s in line with commercial strategy.
- Work with other L3Harris business units to develop partnerships and other areas of business.
- Work closely with the business to develop customer support and increase customer satisfaction.
- Develop the company sales process to improve reporting within the company CRM tool.
- Work with engineering teams to ensure continued development of products in line with strategy and market requirements including development of appropriate documentation and sales material.
- Deliver compelling presentations, demonstrations, and proposals to prospective customers.
- Provide training and support to clients on product usage and integration in collaboration with the engineering team
- Work closely with the engineering team to align sales efforts with product development and customisation opportunities.
- Prepare and present regular sales report, forecasts, and market insights to senior management
What you’ll bring
The role requires the following experience and skills:
- Proven and demonstrable experience in defence industry, specifically within Maritime.
- Ability to build and maintain a network of contacts spanning the domain of interest.
- Track record of best practice in developing business winning campaigns and effective capture plans to close complex prospects.
- Excellent negotiator, experienced at managing and resolving conflicts.
- Effective relationship management and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to interact and lead internal and external senior customers across all levels.
- Appreciation of the technologies, capabilities and solutions ASV offers its customers and the future roadmaps.
- Knowledge of current (and future) defence and relevant maritime capability acquisition programmes and the associated procurement processes.
- Naval background and/or knowledge of autonomous systems would be hugely advantageous
- Full driving licence.
