Job Description:
L3Harris is looking for a Field Service Engineer station at Barksdale AFB, LA responsible for supporting the Customer in the operation and maintenance of the AN/ALQ-172(V)2 system on the Aircraft.
Essential Functions:
- Support the onsite Customer in the testing, troubleshooting, checkout and limited repair of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) of AN/ALQ-172(V)2 system as well as test equipment integrity.
- Support AN/ALQ-172(V)2 Test Program Sets used to complete annual B-52 end to end testing
- Ensure equipment is restored to serviceable condition before it is returned to the aircraft or supply
- Ensure thorough engineering analysis to ensure that only unserviceable LRUs are returned to the Depot Maintenance Facility for repair.
- Accomplish commodity level Time Compliance Technical Orders on AN/ALQ-172(V)2 LRUs
- Assist maintenance in troubleshooting AN//ALQ-172(V)2 System Aircraft wiring problems
- Provide training to assist government personnel in upgrade, on the job training and system knowledge on AN/ALQ-172(V)2 system
- Ensure all foreign objects are removed from inside LRUs prior to assembly
- Able to communicate effectively and clearly to identify hardware and software problems which cannot be resolved locally to the Engineering staff at the Clifton NJ facility
- Able to collaborate with the Customer on day-to-day activities and resolve any conflicts. Maintain Customer focus.
- Able to establish effective communication processes with the Customer.
- Develop, collect, and maintain metrics as to the repairs performed, Cannot Duplicates, failure mode and corrective action, Not Repairable This Station (NRTS), Etc. A report listing all repairs by serial number will be provided on a monthly basis.
- Able to be flexible with work schedule to maintain aircraft mission readiness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of AN/ALQ-172(V)2 system intermediate level maintenance involving Shop Replaceable Units (SRU)s with ability to evaluate their performance.
- Possess a minimum of 8 years’ experience on AN/ALQ-172(V)2 system intermediate level repair with current experience within the last 2 years. Performance level must be met on 1st day of contract performance period with no training required.
- Must have detailed knowledge of AN/ALQ-172(V)2 Operational Flight Program/Emitter Identification Data software and ability to detect system problems caused by the software.
- Must have detailed knowledge of AN/ALQ-172(V)2 jamming techniques and the ability to evaluate internal system interaction and operation in order to resolve signal output problems.
- Must have knowledge and experience of utilization, interaction, and testing using the AN/USM-464A or equivalent with AN/ALQ-172(V)2 TPS/TPIH, AN/ALM-252, and, PYM-1 CAPRE, or equivalent PC or Laptop, with Forcing Function Status Display Enhanced Diagnostics software.
- Knowledge of training methods to assist supervisors with upgrade, OJT, and systems knowledge training on AN/ALQ-172(V)2 system and support equipment.
- Security Clearance required upon hire: Secret
- Security Clearance required for role: Secret
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Able to work independently with minimum direction
- Knowledge of MS Office applications including MS Word and MS Excel
- Knowledge in test equipment operation and maintenance
