Job Description:
The Manager of Manufacturing Engineering will manage a team, focusing on implementing policies and strategies and develop actionable operational plans that contribute to the job function's results. This will include setting short-term goals and driving policies & changes both internally and externally. Additonally, this position will oversee and mitigate ergonomic risks using the hierarchy of controls, which includes elimination, substitution, engineering, and administrative strategies.
To be successful in this role, the Associate Manager will influence processes and standards within operational plans, and engage leaders on key function or business matters, persuading others to adopt new views or practices.
Essential Functions:
- Lead and develop the Manufacturing Engineering team, providing coaching and career guidance.
- Possess excellent communication and presentation abilities, especially for Senior/Executive-level discussions.
- Lead initiatives to enhance yields, optimize production methods, and improve equipment performance using Lean Manufacturing Principles.
- Justify and process requests for capital equipment as needed.
- Drive advanced data collection for process mapping and cost reduction.
- Offer direction and make decisions on engineering project issues.
- Have a deep understanding of manufacturing methods, lean principles, root cause analysis, and quality systems.
- Willing to travel up to 2%.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with 9 years prior experience, Graduate Degree with 7 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Active US Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification.
- Experience with Lean tools
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Communications (RF) Product experience
- Experience with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) Tools including statistical process control, Failure Modes & Effects Analysis, Measurement System Analysis, Process Capability Studies.
- Experience with Corrective & Preventive Action, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Experience with ISO9001:2015, including internal auditing.
- Experience with SAP, Agile, Oracle, IPC 610 / 620.
