Job Description:
L3Harris’ Communication Systems segment is currently seeking an Engineering Technician A to join our team. This position will be based at our Salt Lake City, Utah facility.
The Engineering Technician A performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. They assist in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment. They also construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, diagnose, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems.
Essential Functions:
- Work from schematics, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
- Work with complex machines or computer systems.
- Perform calibration and alignment checks; make adjustments, modification, and replacements as directed; prepare prescribed compounds and solutions.
- Operate related equipment; conduct tests and report data in prescribed format.
- Work to achieve operational targets within the functional area.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects targeting waste affecting product quality, cost, and schedule or other items of value to the business.
- Maintain professional standards of performance, demeanor, and judgment at all times as detailed in company policy and procedure.
- Willing to work overtime as required.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Able to work in both team and individual contributor roles, with minimal supervision.
- Able to personally lift and carry up to 32 lbs.
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with 0 to 3 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Knowledgeable with Microsoft suite and personal computing devices.
- Familiar with electronics manufacturing processes, including soldering, hand tools, and ESD practices.
- IPC 610/620 Certification.
